AC Warning List, Imprints & Event Wrap-Up

AC Warning List, Imprints & Event Wrap-Up

Missing Activity
The following characters have not submitted their October 2020 activity. If your character is on this list, please check to make sure you have filled out the Activity Check for this month. Any characters that have still not checked in within 24 hours of this post will be swept from the game.

If you believe your character has been listed by mistake, please let us know. We will be double-checking activity threads before sweeping anyone from the game, so as long as you've responded to your AC thread with the required activity before the warning period is up, you're fine.

If you have any questions regarding the activity check, please contact us through the mod contact or FAQ.

October Event Wrap-Up
Everyone in the dreamscape will wake up simultaneously, just as they'd fallen asleep in the first place - except for those who experienced death. Dead characters will remain asleep and unresponsive for anywhere from 1 to 72 additional hours. However, once awakened they will be in perfectly good health, aside from any mental trauma.

Characters that were injured or killed in the dreamscape may wake up with scars, though no actual injuries will carry over. Pictures, videos and text messages made from within the dreamscape will also remain on any electronic devices used there. Physical items obtained in the dream will not carry over, including those stored in magical or technological inventory spaces. Damage to personal items in the dreamscape will also be restored, though nicks and scratches may remain in a similar fashion to the scars on some character's bodies.

Though the laws of death were respected in the dream, it appears that the world is back to ignoring them yet again - for now.

New Imprints
While everyone was sleeping, 3 new canon imprints have been added to the game’s setting, including 1 location and 1 concept. This information will be copied to the Locations and State of the World pages shortly.

There have also been various updates to existing concepts based on character actions and new imprints.

If you have any questions for the mods about the newly added imprints, you can leave a comment in the questions thread below.

New Location: Mementos, the Heart of the World
Deep below the world's surface lies a maze of dark tunnels, connecting each of the train stations that exist in the above-ground. The tunnels are much larger than those found in an average train system, illuminated by a dim reddish-purple haze of light that permeates the area. Parts of the walls are made of thick muscle, curved and slick with an unknown organic fluid, and the connections between the walls and their respective ground and ceilings are sealed with networks of spidering veins. The upper parts of the walls are covered in a more translucent flesh, allowing one to peer into nearby tunnels and the areas in between. Everything pulses and throbs as if alive, and the thundering beat of a distant heart can be heard from deeper underground. The flesh in the walls and ceiling are more durable than they appear to be, but will bleed and convulse violently if damaged.

The ground is lined with modern-looking subway tracks, though only some of them appear to get any use. There are many more tunnels than the current routes require, and it's very easy to get lost if one attempts to traverse the tunnels by foot. Somewhere near the center of the maze, accessible only by one of these footpaths, is a wide room with escalators that looks almost like the entrance to a lower floor... but it ends abruptly at a solid white wall halfway down, consisting of the same impenetrable material as the ground in the outer regions of the void.

Mementos: Goro Akechi (Persona 5 Royal)
The Heart of Behemoth: Add (Elsword)

Updated Concept: Climate & Weather
There are currently two types of weather in the world: snow and thunderstorms.

Thunderstorms come from clouds, which may form in the sky above any location in the world. Storm clouds congregate towards one particular area and stay there until the storm decides that it has finished; it never rains in more than one place at a time. Storm periods can last from one hour to a couple of days, and occur randomly. Thunder and lightning will also occur regularly during storms.

Objects, creatures or people struck by lightning will feel pain from the experience, but will not sustain any lasting damage. Electronic devices will remain functional for one full hour after being struck by lightning, even if the storm has ended.

Updated Concept: Technology
During storms, all technological devices will be able to operate temporarily. The extent of this is limited to the basic capabilities of the device in question; anything that requires an external aid, such as network connectivity for the communicative properties of cell phones, as well as anything that would create an effect outside of the device itself, such as high-tech guns or holographic projectors, will not function. Batteries do not drain and will only read as 100% while a storm is active.

The general functionality of technology depends on their distance from the storm - if they are far away from the source, the device may experience momentary “blackouts” until the owner can get closer. Devices will cease to function when the storm that is powering them has subsided.

Trains will run continuously during storm periods, automatically making stops at each currently established station. When the storm that is sourcing their power finishes, they will fall back into inactivity regardless of their location - passengers will need to pry the doors open and continue to their destination on foot.

Poké Balls are capsule-like devices that can capture and store living beings inside of them, to be carried around in a portable form. Poké Balls can capture any living thing that is not a player character, including pets and summons a character may have brought with them; this can be done by throwing an empty Poké Ball at the creature in question, but its rate of success will vary based on the strength of the target and its willingness to be captured. If a capture is unsuccessful, the Poké Ball will break and cannot be repaired. If the capture is successful, the inside of the ball will simulate the creature’s ideal environment and store them comfortably until they are called out by their owners. Creatures are released from Poké Balls by tossing them into the air, and returned by pointing the creature’s specific Poké Ball at them, upon which they will be converted into energy and stored inside of the Ball. Captured creatures will normally stay obediently inside of their Poké Ball, but can break out of their own volition if they choose.

If a Poké Ball is broken externally, the creature inside will be automatically ejected and unable to be recalled until a new Ball is procured for them. Creatures inside of Poké Balls do not experience hunger, but are aware of passing time.

Poké Balls do not require electricity like other devices do. They will remain fully functional at all times, unless something else causes them to become damaged or broken.

Poké Balls: Blue Oak (Pokémon)

Updated Location: Shibumenosaki Underground Academy
The jewellery store only has individual diamonds and red, blue or yellow gemstones of various shapes and sizes in its displays. The shop also contains a wall of gatchapon machines that have slots that fit the gems being sold in the shop. Inserting the gems and turning the crank will dispense a capsule, containing one random Poké Ball. Despite how fancy some of them may look, they all have the same probability of catching a target.

Updated Concept: Health
All living things require sleep in order to stay alert and healthy. Staying awake for longer than 24 hours will result in heavy physical fatigue, exhaustion, and loss of awareness. The symptoms can be cured with 8-10 hours of sleep.

Updated Concept: Light
“Night” is an individual, isolated experience - the light in a 10 foot (3 meter) radius around a person will begin to dim as they get tired, and will go completely dark as they fall asleep. If many people are sleeping in the same area, this darkness will collect and spread to a distance of 30 feet (10 m) in all directions. As a person wakes up, the light will slowly begin to brighten around them, as if waking up with the sunrise. If they are fighting to stay awake, the light will be consistently dim, as if trying to encourage rest.

Updated Concept: Time & Space
Time is now stable, and can be consistently observed and recorded by the second, minute, and hour.

Time comes from water. Devices for measuring time, such as clocks or sundials, must be either filled with or submerged in water in order to function. If it is a technological device, no other power source is necessary for it to tell accurate time. All of the clocks that have been imprinted into the world through locations have been pre-filled with water.

Will dreams/nightmares (continue to) exist, or is sleep dreamless now?

Awesome, thanks mods!

Raihan has a Rotom Phone on his person - it's not a Poké Ball, but is a device that is specifically designed to be enhanced when a Rotom is inside of it. Until now, the phone and Rotom have been dormant - would the activation of technology during storms allow it to leave the phone?

PROBABLY AN INANE QUESTION BUT if technology is semi-working now does that include the computers in the apartment complex (both the lobby computers and the laptops in each room)? If so, is there anything on them? do they at least have solitaire

Hi mods!

I would just like to make sure whether the only thing existing in the jewel shops are the gems themselves! It says that's what they have on display, but can one find actual jewelry by snooping around?

Thank you!

Do abilities/powers related to dreams function within dreams now, or is that still not possible?

I could have sworn I'd asked this already but apparently I didn't! If characters normally are able to retain lucidity and and generally do whatever they want within their own dreams, would that still apply?

Do people become better at telling time if filled with or submerged in water or are only actual time-keeping devices effected?

Also is Mortis Lake's cycle affected by time becoming stable?

1. "anything that requires an external aid, such as network connectivity for the communicative properties of cell phones,"

So if I'm understanding this right, cell phones won't work because they need a cell tower to bounce a signal off of, but walkie-talkies would work because they send signals directly to each other? Or do signals count as an "outside effect"?

2. "as well as anything that would create an effect outside of the device itself, such as high-tech guns or holographic projectors, will not function"

Does that mean that technology will not produce light anymore, since light is an outside effect? Or is light sort of grandfathered in? (I'm also guessing the whole "things that produce light always produce light regardless of power" isn't a thing anymore, like the lightbulbs scattered on the paths of Mt. Silver, since most technology needs electricity now?)

3. Are capture pods from Starbound similar enough to Pokeballs (they're basically shamelessly ripped off from Pokeballs to the point where if you showed one to a Pokemon character they'd probably think it's just a funny-looking Pokeball) that they would also function the same way? There aren't any in the game right now because Indigo didn't bring any, but it might become relevant in the future....

She's so proud of her little water clock. It's telling time properly now.

Her hourglass on the other hand apparently needs to be submerged in water and she just wants to scream in frustration. She's getting there!
