The underground areas are dark, but that doesn't mean characters can't see at all! This is mentioned on the State of the World page: "characters may find their vision "adjusts" to the darkness after awhile, allowing them limited sight in dark areas."

Maybe! What we meant by our original response to the fire question is that, if something ordinary hasn't been defined in the setting yet, the answer is open to be interpreted by the player however they'd like. You can think of it as the character's personal influence having an effect on their immediate surroundings. "Fire" is not something the world has defined at all yet, so it won't appear naturally within the setting. However, if Akechi knows what fire is and personally believes he can create it, he can subconsciously influence the world to allow that fire to exist... maybe. Since this is only the power of one individual at work, it might not work, or it might behave strangely. "Light" has been defined as only coming from the sky, so the fire he creates might not even give off light! But ultimately we would like to give players the freedom to explore these ideas in ways that are fun to them, rather than making only hard rules about how the world works. We'll try to make all of that clearer in our next FAQ update.

As for the books in the apartments, you're right on the mark! They're all the exact same blank book. We'll add that to the description since them all being identical is a feature, in this case.
